ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳

The ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ East Renaissance Student Leadership Program brought joy, mystery and plenty of school spirit to the halls of ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ East with a unique twist on spirit week, just for the adults. Held June 2-6, the “Underground Staffulty School Spirit Week” was a Staffulty-only event that encouraged teachers and staff to dress up in themed attire each day without revealing the themes to students.

The covert celebration added an exciting layer of intrigue for students, who were challenged to guess the day’s theme based on staff attire. This fun, low-key initiative aimed to boost staff morale and shake up the routine with lighthearted energy – and it worked.

Students enjoyed the week so much that they’ve already asked the Renaissance team to bring the event back next year. A big shoutout to the Staffulty for their spirit and to the Renaissance Student Leadership Program for organizing a standout event.

On June 23, graduating seniors from both ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ High School East and ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ High School North returned to their elementary schools for a cherished district tradition – walking the halls one last time in their caps and gowns.

The visit was a full-circle moment for the Class of 2025, who were welcomed with cheers, applause and high-fives from younger students and former teachers. The walk-throughs served as both a celebration of how far these seniors have come and an inspiration to the students just beginning their own academic journeys.

Staff and students alike were moved by the emotional reunions and proud reflections. For many seniors, the experience highlighted the deep roots they’ve built in the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Central School District and the impact of the educators who helped guide their way.

Congratulations to all ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ graduates from East and North. Your journey continues, but your ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ story will always be part of you.

ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ High School East is pleased to announce that two senior musicians have been selected to receive $1,000 NYSCAME Senior Scholarships. These highly competitive scholarships are awarded to approximately 15 graduating seniors across Suffolk County who have demonstrated exceptional musical achievement and plan to continue studying music in college. It is especially notable for multiple recipients to come from the same school district.

Brandon Rivas, a euphonium and trombone player, performs with the wind ensemble, pit orchestra and marching band at ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳. Outside of school, he has been a member of the Nassau-Suffolk Wind Symphony for six years and represented ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ in the NYSSMA All-State Symphonic Band this past December. Brandon is also a composer of wind band music, with five published works, including one that was recently named an Editor’s Choice by J.W. Pepper. He will attend the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam this fall to study music composition.

Jaden Rudnicki, a French horn player, performs in the wind ensemble and pit orchestra, plays lead trumpet in the jazz ensemble, and sings in the symphonic choir. His accolades include two years of participation in the NYSSMA All-State Ensembles, a recent performance with the All-Eastern Honors Orchestra, and multiple years as principal horn for both the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra’s Suffolk Principal Orchestra and the Nassau-Suffolk Wind Symphony. He has also won several solo competitions. This fall, Jaden will attend the New England Conservatory to pursue a degree in French horn performance.

ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ High School East congratulates Brandon and Jaden on this outstanding achievement and extends best wishes for continued success in their musical careers.

Over 200 juniors from ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ East gathered on May 28 to celebrate the Class of 2026 at the annual Junior Banquet, held at the scenic Lombardi’s on the Bay in Patchogue. With the Great South Bay as a backdrop, students enjoyed an evening of dining, dancing and shared memories as they marked the end of a meaningful year.

Junior Class advisers Glen Monsen and Rob Regan praised the Class of 2026 for their leadership and commitment, especially in organizing events that brought the school community together. As these students prepare to enter their senior year, both advisers expressed their excitement for what lies ahead in this final chapter of their ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ experience.

The ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Central School District proudly recognizes the first group of students to earn the prestigious New York State Seal of Biliteracy. This distinction, offered for the first time in ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳, honors graduating seniors who have demonstrated proficiency in English and at least one additional language.

Class of 2026 NYS Seal of Biliteracy Information

The opportunity to earn the NYS Seal of Biliteracy will be offered again to the graduating Class of 2026. This program promotes multilingualism, celebrates cultural diversity and prepares students with valuable skills for college and careers.

Students interested in participating can join the 2025-2026 Seal of Biliteracy Google Classroom using the code: 3xvwzaqi.
